I entered UF in the Fall semester in 2021 as a Physics major, but decided to take a history class as an elective. In that course, I learned to think critically about scholarly work and to look beyond face value when reading primary sources. Captivated by this, I decided to change my major to History, and have never looked back. I have continued to pursue coursework in Asian history, as that is my primary area of focus, as well as relevant language training in Korean and Japanese. Much of what I have learned in these classes has helped inform the research I will pursue with the University Scholars Program as well as in my upcoming History Honors Thesis.
